Port Arthur, TX — A Texas family was unharmed after a harrowing experience just two days after Christmas. According to Port Arthur police, it was approximately 8:30pm on Sunday night when the homeowner called 911 to report that three men had broken into his home.
When police arrived at the home in the 2500 block of 18th Street, they found one of the three men dead on the floor. His two accomplices were fleeing on foot.
According to the homeowner, the three armed thugs had forced their way into the house after they had followed his wife up to the door when she arrived home.
Once inside the house, the thugs grabbed the woman and her children at gunpoint and demanded money and items of value from the woman.
The 29-year-old husband was in another room, but he heard the noise. He immediately grabbed a rifle “to protect his young children” according to a Port Arthur Police news release.
The husband and father then opened fire at the three men who were holding his family hostage. Port Arthur Police Sergeant Shannon Meaux said, “The homeowner fired several shots at the suspect, who was pronounced deceased on scene.”
The alleged intruder, Terence Ellies, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The sergeant noted that the other two suspects fled before officers arrived at the house. No one else was injured during the incident.
Husband Hero
This husband and father should be proud of himself for saving the lives of his family. Leftist politicians think that he should have called the police — those that are still funded, of course — and waited the roughly 7 minutes it takes police to respond to the average 911 call.
If this man hadn’t had a gun and the courage to use it, this story could have ended in tragedy. As it is, it’s a perfect example of a how a man with a gun can be a force for GOOD!
