As the end of the year gets closer, it’s safe to say that while 2020 might be the year of the Virus, but it should also go down in history as the year of the Gun.
The latest numbers from the NSSF show that Americans purchased right at 21 million guns this year. According to ABC News, the record numbers are due to a “perfect storm” consisting of “the pandemic, economic recession, civil unrest and a divisive presidential election.”
Starting in January, Virginia Governor-Tyrant Ralph Northam showed gun owners across the country what the left wanted to do to our gun rights. Thanks to his showing their hand, gun owners across the country responded by making January’s gun sales the highest January on record.
February saw residual growth from Northam but near the end of the month, the ‘corona’ scare was already looming on the horizon. February, too, saw the highest numbers for any February on record.
And so it continued. March and April saw sky high numbers thanks to the Corona Scare and threats from governors to close gun stores.
By the Memorial Day weekend, the year was already shaping up to be one for the record books. But after the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis — and the ensuing riots, looting, and destruction — the Gun Rush of 2020 went stratospheric once again.
Black Friday — typically the biggest day for gun sales in an average year — wasn’t the highest on record, but Cyber Monday helped make up for it. November’s numbers ended higher than any other November.
Every single month of 2020, gun sales were higher than that month in any other year since the FBI began keeping records.
Anti-Gun Politicians Hate The Gun Rush
Decades of media propaganda from the anti-gun left and pressure from anti-gun politicians got rejected in a few short months of 2020.
When society started to shake and wobble, Americans rushed out to buy a gun to protect their families. The NSSF estimates that nearly 8 million Americans bought a gun for the first time, this year! And it wasn’t just angry, racist old white men — an age-old propaganda tool of the left.
No, of those 8 million first time gun owners, the NSSF estimates that 40% of them were women! Not only that, but gun sales to black Americans were up 58% this year over last year!
This is all great news for gun owners — other than the shortages and high prices that increased demand have led to all over the country!
