Chicago, IL — News of a shooting in Chicago is hardly noteworthy these days, thanks to Democrat Mayor Lori Lightfoot and her pandering to the leftist mobs in the Windy City’s streets.
But a shooting that left three Chicago Police officers wounded still gets attention. Police reported that yesterday afternoon, officers had arrested one Lovelle Jordan, 25, after a struggle to subdue the man. He was under arrest after the cops witnessed him getting into a stolen 2018 Porsche in Austin, IL.
He was cuffed in the back seat with his hands behind his back when he somehow maneuvered his hands to the front of his body. That’s when he retrieved a gun he was “extremely secreted” in his “private area.”
He waited until the officers had pulled up to the Northswest Side Police Station and then began shooting at the officers in the car, as well as nearby officers standing outside the precinct building.
While handcuffed in the back of a CPD SUV, Lovelle Jordan was able to maneuver his hands in front of his body and pull an “extremely secreted” gun from his “private area” before opening fire on officers, CPD Chief of Detectives Brendan Deenihan said today. https://t.co/kVcjp4QnX9

Of the six officers standing there, three were struck by Jordan’s five shots. Two of the officers suffered minor injuries, and were treated and released. The third officer was struck in the shoulder but fragments of the bullet glanced off into the officers jaw. He is currently in a medically induced coma while he recuperates.
Lovelle Jordan is now facing six counts of attempted murder, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, one count of being an armed habitual criminal, one count of unlawful use of a weapon, possession of stolen vehicle and two misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest, according to Cook County prosecutors.
“He tried to kill six police officers,” Chief of Detectives Brendan Deenihan said during a news conference earlier this morning.
Local news detailed the events of the stolen Porsche:
Deenihan said officers were called about 9 a.m. Thursday to investigate a suspicious vehicle in the 4800 block of West North Avenue and found the Porsche, which was unoccupied, and determined it was stolen.
The Porsche was being rented by a man who was asleep in the car Sunday when an unidentified person stole the car at gunpoint, prosecutors said.
As the officers were completing paperwork, Jordan “walked right up,” entered the Porsche and tried to drive away, Deenihan said, adding much of the interaction was captured on video.
“It just shows how emboldened these criminals are,” Deenihan said. “The cops are right there, and he just jumps in this vehicle and tries to start it and drive away.”
Gun Control Can’t Even Keep Cops Safe!
Emboldened criminals indeed! That takes some…well…considering where that gun was, it’s hardly funny to say it!
But as the left continues calling for defunding the police department, it becomes more and more obvious that the people who want the police defunded — or replaced with counselors and social workers — are often calling for less police because they want to commit crimes.
What a joke these big leftist cities –with the worst gun control in the country! — have become. Dangerous for the citizens and now even for the cops!
