America’s gun store owners are conflicted. This is obviously a bad year for America, with tens of millions of Americans on unemployment and just as many still essentially under un-monitored lockdown. It’s hard to find much to be cheerful about.
But for gun store owners, this year is shaping up to be the biggest year of gun sales on record.
Numbers for the month of June indicated that Americans purchased more than 2.3 million guns in 31 days. Small Arms Analytics and Forecasting (SAAF) reported that a total of 2,387,524 guns were purchased.
June of 2020 surpassed June of 2019 by 145%. But as gun owners across the country know, it’s not just June. It’s the whole darn 2020.
June is just the fourth month in a row that gun sales were markedly higher. March, April and May reported increases of 86.3%, 71.3% and 80.2% over last year.
January gun sales were also higher — thank you Ralph Northam — but February wasn’t anything remarkable.
March and April brought fears of social unrest and food shortages. But just as the Corona Scare had started to taper off, Memorial Day weekend brought the news cycle around to George Floyd, who died in police custody on May 25th. By May 26th, the rioting and looting were in full sway.
More Americans –who had told themselves it couldn’t get worse– rushed out to gun stores, finally realizing once and for all that sometimes the cops just aren’t coming.
Sales in the first week of June were the highest of the entire month — and could possibly represent the highest week of sales since the data tracking started more than 20 years ago.
A Year For The Books!
So far in 2020, more than 8.3 MILLION guns have been sold. Of that number, gun stores are universally reporting record high numbers of first-time gun buyers.
It’s obvious why these numbers are so high. Mark Oliva, spokesperson for the National Shooting Sports Foundation, sent out an emailed statement on the sales numbers:
“These figures represent the highest June on record since the FBI began conducting instant background checks more than 20 years. Civil unrest, rioting, looting and calls to defund police are unquestionably motivating factors of why this trend is increasing.”
The left wants anarchy and chaos so that they can take control of the country — even via an election — and then disarm the citizens. They’ve done it in nearly every single country where there was a socialist takeover.
Who Is Standing Up For America?
Gun owners. Gun owners are standing between the mob of leftists and their goal — and that’s why they hate us so much. Gun owners represent the last physical threat to their taking this country under their control. Once they’ve defunded the police and chased the good guys out of the military, we’re the last gun standing.
We all want to DO something in this cold war against the left. If the vast majority of comments on the gun sites we follow are indicative of the general sentiment across the country, that’s a common request: ‘What can I do besides buy more ammo?’
Today, pick up your phone and call ALL of your legislators. Find their numbers, print them out, and call them five days a week. Every day. DEMAND that your ‘pro-gun’ legislators take a loud, firm, public stand against this leftist machine. Call your left-leaning legislators and tell them that you’re going to actively work AGAINST their reelection campaign.
Have your wife call. Have your kids call. Your buddies, your father-in-law who is retired but still gives a damn about the country his grandkids are going to live in. Send them this article.
Lather, rinse, repeat. Join an ACTIVE state gun organization or get in touch with one in another state if there isn’t one in your state. Ask them how to bring the political pain on these people.
No more games, no more fundraising dinners. Keep your crappy duffel bag and cap. We need to be a hell of a lot more engaged in this fight than a check once a year.
Because the left is out for blood — the blood of America herself.
