With Nation Locked Down and Threatened by Virus, U.S. House Files Worst Gun Control Bill in Memory

In case you missed the news on Saturday, gun owners are facing the worst gun bill in recent American history in HR. 5717.

While American citizens are distracted by grocery store shortages and devastating economic repercussions from the Corona Virus, now they are also in the fight of their lives against HR 5717.

This federal bill, sneakily and intentionally introduced during the Corona virus crisis, is a literal encyclopedia of gun control. Every ugly gun control law you can think of is in this thing!

Mega Bill: A Nightmare For Gun Owners

Introduced by Rep. Hank Johnson of Georgia’s 4th Congressional District, HR 5717 would all but destroy the Second Amendment. Here are some of the items contained in it:

Mandate a license to buy guns
Create a nationwide gun registry
Ban almost all semiautomatic rifles
Institute a Federal Magazine Ban
Implement national “Red Flag” gun confiscation
Tax guns at 30% and ammo at 50%
Ban patriots under 21 from exercising their Second Amendment rights
Ration guns by making it illegal to purchase more than one firearm in 30-day period
Force “Safe Storage” requirements on gun owners
Ban suppressors
Force FFLs to spend massive amounts of money to comply with new “security” requirements and resulting in the closure of hundreds or even thousands of gun stores
Expand “Gun Free Zones” to colleges and universities

Every single one of these measures is unconstitutional and a damn outrage. But most gun owners know that already.

But one new factor makes this bill particularly dangerous: the timing. Americans are feeling really vulnerable thanks to Covid-19. The radical socialists in D.C. are taking advantage of all that fear and uncertainty and trying to ram through this ‘mega bill’ while they can. They know that you never let a crisis go to waste!

We expect those radicals in government will act like this is necessary to “keep Americans safe at this time.” And they know that there is a number of scared Americans who desperately want to restore the delusion that the government will keep them safe. The anti-gun radicals on the left are happy to capitalize on that fear–after all, they and the media helped create the fear in the first place!

After all, what faster way to neutralize gun owners than to pass a sweeping bill like this under the guise that it’s necessary because of an emergency situation?

If ever it was obvious that men and women should have the right to protect themselves, it’s NOW! But not for the anti-gun left. They’re taking advantage of the fear and uncertainty and making the ultimate power play to destroy our gun rights.
