Tiger, Georgia — Georgia’s most pro-gun — and most conservative elected official — State Rep. Matt Gurtler (R-Tiger), is “strongly considering” a run for Congress in Georgia’s 9th Congressional District.
The 9th is soon to be vacated by Congressman Doug Collins, who’s announced his intention to run against Georgia Senator Kelly Loeffler in the November 2020 “jungle primary.”
According to FetchYourNews.com, Gurtler was in Washington, DC, this week meeting with conservative groups discussing a potential run for Congress.
“’I had an opportunity to meet with some great conservative leaders,’ Gurtler told FYN in a brief statement.”
For four Georgia legislative sessions, Gurtler has been the voice of gun owners in the State of Georgia at the Capitol in Atlanta, fighting publicly and privately for Constitutional Carry in Georgia.
If he runs for Congress, and should he win, he would instantly be one of, if not the most pro-gun and conservative Member of Congress.
