Manila, Ark — An Arkansas man found a burglar in his house at 3:00 am and told him to leave.
The burglar didn’t listen, but said, “Give me that gun before you hurt yourself, old man.”
Instead, the “old man” shot him and sent him to the hospital.
The events took place in Mississippi County, on Tuesday September 16h.
That’s when a homeowner woke up to strange noises in his house in the early morning hours.
The homeowner grabbed his gun and went to investigate the noises.
He found a man in the living room and told the intruder to leave his home.
The burglar coolly ignored him, and even began to make himself a snack in the man’s kitchen.
The homeowner told the intruder again to leave but the man started unplugging the television, instead.
Growing afraid and upset, the homeowner told the burglar to leave one more time.
That’s when the suspect said: “Give me that gun before you hurt yourself, old man.”
Enough was enough.
The homeowner took the burglar seriously, where the burglar was not taking him seriously. He fired one shot at the man hitting him in the leg.
The man took off, and the homeowner called police.
When they arrived, they found a 47-year-old Charles Lancaster of Keiser. He was sitting across the street, suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.
Charles Lancaster was taken to a local hospital and treated.
Once he was discharged, he was immediately arrested and charged with residential burglary.
He is now being held at the the Mississippi County Detention Center.
The unnamed homeowner should be proud of himself.
He wasn’t a victim. He didn’t take any crap from the scum who broke into his home.
And he’s alive to tell the tale.
