Houston, TX — Houston Police released video of two men carjacking a homeowner in his own driveway and are asking for the public to help identify the two carjackers.
The home security footage is chilling.
The incident happened around 7:00 pm on August 5th. The homeowner had just pulled into his Southwest Houston home off Longbrook Drive. The homeowner was sitting in his car in the driveway.
Just as he started to open the car door to get out, an unidentified man ran up to the side of his car.
He pointed a gun towards the homeowner. Instinctively, the homeowner tried to shut the car door.
But the thug opened the door again and shoved his gun right into the homeowner’s face.
A second man ran up and helped the thug pull the man out of his car.
In the background, the viewer can see a silver Toyota Camry stop at the end of the driveway, and several more thugs run up.
They succeeded in pulling the man out of his car and then shoved him face down into the grass in his front yard.
Two of the thugs searched the man’s pockets, while two others jumped into his car and drove it away.
The rest of the thugs escaped in the Toyota Camry.
No Suspects and No Leads
Sugar Land, TX Police recovered the car a few days later, but have no leads on the suspects.
Houston Police are asking for the public to help identify the thugs and to call with any tips.
Watching the video, it’s easy to imagine how powerless and violated that homeowner felt as his face was shoved into the dirt and his pockets were searched.
These carjackers were clearly on the prowl for somebody to rob. Unfortunately, this homeowner sitting his driveway was the perfect target.
