Washington, DC — After Walmart and Kroger paved the way, it was a matter of hours until other corporations followed suit.
On Thursday, Walgreens, CVS, and east coast grocery chain Wegmans all announced that they are requesting that customers no longer open carry in their stores.
This comes after Wednesday’s announcement from Walmart and Kroger telling their customers the same thing.
This represents a pretty sizable chunk of the retail market.
Walmart is the largest retailer in the country.
Walgreens and CVS are the largest and the second-largest pharmacies in the country.
Kroger and Wegmens are a sizable portion of the grocery market.
The Left Crows:
Anti-Gun organizations like Moms Demand Action and Coaliation to Stop Gun Violence were quick to claim the victory.
Shannon Watts, the “founder” –not to be confused with funder–of Moms Demand Action said, “Prohibiting open carry sends a very strong cultural signal that companies are siding with the safety of families.”

Do you feel that? The cultural ground is shifting beneath us.

They both missed the point. Or rather, they both intentionally overstated their point.
This isn’t a cultural shift.
This is a corporate shift.
American gun ownership and concealed carry permits are higher than ever.
The shooting in Odessa didn’t prompt thousands of gun owners to shift in their position and give up their guns.
Instead, American citizen were quick to flock to buy more guns in Odessa, TX.
Gun stores in Texas are reporting that License to Carry classes are selling out faster than ever.
States like Washington are reporting record numbers of Concealed Carry permits issued, and numbers are consistently up across the nation.
There IS a cultural shift, but it’s not the one the leftist media or Soros’ and Bloomberg’s paid activists think it is.
The shift is in the American population’s perception of their own safety–both from crime and from government overreach.
And that shift has been a long time coming. It won’t be going away anytime soon.
