Toronto, Canada — After three days bogged down in a “black face” scandal, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau sought to change the subject by publicly calling for a so-called “assault weapons ban” throughout Canada.
Current Canadian law outlaws fully automatic firearms and limits magazine size to five rounds for modern sport rifles.
Trudeau took to Twitter for a series of announcements.
On September 20, he had this to say:
“We’re going to ban military-style assault rifles in Canada.”
Trudeau’s reason for attempting to change the subject is due to a combination of three photos and videos that have been released of Trudeau, all take within the last 25 years, having painted his face black on multiple occasions.
At least one such incident took place while he was a private school teacher in the early 2000s.
In my entire life I’ve never seen anyone in blackface. Not in “redneck” Alberta. Not at some law school party. Not even Halloween. I’ve met more people than most in my 47 years — the exact same age as Trudeau, the same era. I’ve never seen blackface once — let alone a fetish. pic.twitter.com/z4r5UjxxBp

"I see a charlatan in the making, a handsy goof turned preachy world leader, forever careening from one PC lane to the next, virtue-signalling while 'not remembering' the police flashers now blazing in his rearview mirror." Vinay Menon, take a bow: https://t.co/cXkyu4XTag?

Using the term “assault weapon” is an intentional scare tactic of the anti gun lobby. Our sporting rifles are semi auto, limited to 5 rounds, the same as our hunting rifles. Know the facts! Let’s commit to working on crime 🇨🇦❤️ @JustinTrudeau @AndrewScheer https://t.co/B72GoyHqO0
