NASCAR, a sport born out of bootlegging moonshine, is now taking an anti-gun stance.
Bleacher Report describes NASCAR’s actions as banning all advertisements featuring “assault weapons” due to a “gradual shift” in the company’s position on guns.
“We just heard from NASCAR on a number of gun-related ads and unfortunately, due to a gradual shift in NASCAR’s position on guns, these ads must be edited/changed—especially those that are depicted as assault-style rifles/sniper rifles,” said National Events Publicans in an email to an online gun retailer.
K-Var, the gun retailer, was attempting to purchase advertising space from NASCAR.
K-Var recently received notification that their advertisement request was denied.
NASCAR is joining Dick’s Sporting Goods, Under Armor, and Yeti in their anti-gun positioning.
In a clear rebuke of their fan base, NASCAR will be pulling fan-favored gun advertisements.
Will gun owners walk away from NASCAR?
Those supportive of the Second Amendment need to stand up to these anti-gun companies.
Capitalism will eliminate these entities if we take our interest and business elsewhere.
