LEHI, UT— An alleged home invader was shot and injured Saturday, July 13th, after breaking into a home in Lehi, police said.
Police say they received a call at 8:40 PM to 391 N. 900 East, with reports that there was a burglary in progress.
An unknown intruder who was armed with a knife was trying to forcibly enter the second story apartment.
While on their way to the scene, dispatchers told police that a young man in his early 20’s had been trespassing at the home earlier in the day and the home renter had told him to leave.
The home intruder came back later, but the renter was ready when he decided to come back armed and break in to finish the job.
When the intruder made entry into his home with his knife drawn, the unidentified renter in his 20s, shot him several times.
Police arrived to find the intruder shot “at least twice in the legs and once in the stomach.”
He was taken to the Intermountain Medical is expected to survive.
He will remain at the hospital until he’s healthy enough to be arrested.
Police say they didn’t know why the man was trying to get into the apartment and there is no known relationship between the two men.
A homeowner with a gun was able to protect himself with his personal weapon.
By the time the cops arrived, the showdown was already over.

They only thing he can do: become a victim.
But this story has a happy ending: the bad guy is in the hospital and the homeowner is walking free.
