(Acworth, Georgia) – A robber looking for quick cash barged into a Subway restaurant only to be met with extreme force — an employee who fired back.
According to WSB-TV out of Atlanta, the employee was able to get his firearm when the robber made his way behind the counter:
Police say a robber holding a handgun went into the Subway on Baker Road in Acworth to grab some quick cash, but it changed when he went behind the counter.
“An employee of Subway was able to retrieve a personal firearm and use it against the suspect, striking him once in the chest,” Officer Mark Cheatham of the Acworth Police Department said.

Despite the serious gunshot wound, the man staggered outside the store and disappeared.
Acworth police weren’t sure how the wounded man fled from the scene, but in Kennesaw, 911 calls started coming in from an urgent care facility after a white sedan pulled into the parking lot and dumped a man off with a gunshot wound in the chest.
“The suspect was next seen at the urgent care, so getting from the scene to urgent care is still under investigation,” Cheatham said.
The robber was able to make it out of surgery alive, likely to facing charges from law enforcement.
This is a perfect example of being prepared at all times.
You never know when a criminal or thug can attack.
Bravo to this Subway employee — hopefully he becomes the “Employee of the Year”.
