(Washington, DC) — Hoping no one would be playing close attention in the days after the Texas shooting, U.S. Senators Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Democrat U.S. Senator Diane Feinstein (D-CA) have pledged to hold a hearing on a potential “bump stock” ban.
Despite massive push back from those who want to protect the Constitution and Second Amendment rights, Feinstein and the anti-gun lobby has been able to twist Grassley’s arm, pressuring him into holding hearings.
Or is it really pressure?
According to the Washington, DC political publication, The Hill, Grassley’s office has been scheming behind the scenes for weeks in preparation for a hearing:
“Hearing preparations have been in the works for some time. We will likely have more details on timing later on in the week,” the Grassley aide said.
Even worse, it has now been reported that Grassley is “amenable” to such hearings:
Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), the No. 2 Senate Republican and a member of Grassley’s panel, told reporters earlier Monday that he and Sen. Dianne Feinstein (Calif.), the committee’s top Democrat, asked Grassley for a hearing and “he seemed amenable.”
Now the Politico is reporting that Grassley told them he would hold a hearing “soon”.
Second Amendment supporters should worry greatly about Grassley’s bending over backwards to appease the gun-grabbers.
Afterall, it was left-wing nut Nancy Pelosi who said she hoped a ban on “bump stocks” would be just the beginning to more restrictions on Second Amendment rights.
Second Amendment supporters and those who want to protect our Constitution need to be aware that the gun control fight isn’t over. It’s just beginning.
