(Kansas City, Missouri) – A man and his girlfriend were coming home from work with an armful of groceries when an armed thug came out of nowhere and attempted an armed robbery.
The robber demanded that the couple empty their pockets, and they complied.
Wanting more, the suspect then forced the two toward their apartment door.
Once inside, the boyfriend reached behind the door and grabbed his pistol and fired off several rounds as fast as he could.
While he missed the suspect, it was enough to scare him into fleeing the scene on foot.

According to KCTV5.com, the victim said:
“My girlfriend and I put our groceries inside and I was going to walk her back to her car,” Josh Habib said.
Habib and his girlfriend were returning from Walmart after working the night shift at their job.
“This man came around and was holding a gun and was saying give me this, give me that and threatening us with a gun,” he said.
Habib says the man was dressed in all black. He gave the man everything inside his pockets.
“But we were backed up into our apartment. My door was open he was beckoning us to go into the apartment,” Habib said.[php_everywhere]
Frightened, Habib made the decision to grab what he knew could possibly save them — his own weapon that was just inside the door.
“I walked out he was still holding the gun and I thought he was going to shoot me that minute, and I just took a couple shots and he ran off,” he said.
Unsure if he shot the gunman, Habib and his girlfriend went inside to hide and call police.
Police say they later found the man dead.
“The last thing I wanted to do is use my firearm. That’s the last thing I wanted to do. But am I glad I had it? Yes, I am because things could’ve gotten very ugly, very fast if I hadn’t,” he said.
The suspect was found dead at the scene when police arrived.
No charges are pending against the home owner or his girlfriend.
