(Chicago, Illinois) — In a city known for corrupt politicians and some of the worst gun control laws in the country, Chicago’s homicide rate is making a run for history books.
Despite these numbers, anti-gun legislators in Chicago and Springfield continue to push their radical gun control agenda.
The results are simply astounding.
According to the Chicago Tribune:
As of early Monday, the city has recorded at least 609 homicides…at least 3,267 people have been shot in Chicago this year.

Chicago has only seen 600 or more homicides three times in the last 14 years, making it obvious that Mayor Emmanuel’s obsession with gun control is having the opposite of the desired effect.
Chicago has a complete ban on AR-15’s and other modern rifles, mandates 3-day waiting periods on firearms purchases, requires a FOID card to buy ammunition, limits buying to one gun a month, and much more.
Houston, which is very similar in size to Chicago, has far fewer homicides and rapes per 100,000 population and has much less restrictive gun laws.
Maybe Illinois legislators could learn a thing or two from the Lone Star State.
