(Chicago, Illinois) – The FBI is reporting that they have arrested 33-year-old Jerry Adams in connection with an attempted armed robbery in Little Village.
Authorities state that Adams attempted to rob an armed security guard who was delivering $240,000 in currency to a currency exchange on W. 26th St., before 9:30 AM last Monday, by striking him in the back and neck with a sledgehammer.
As the security guard lay on the ground, he saw Adams raise the sledgehammer again. Fearing for his life, the guard shot Adams multiple times, before he was captured nearby at 28th Street and Koster Avenue.
