(Ypsilanti, MI) – Police in this Michigan town are reporting that a 62-yr old foiled an attempted armed robbery Saturday evening, thanks to his concealed handgun.
The would-be victim was in the 300 block of Worden Street when he was approached by a man who claimed he had a firearm and ordered the victim to empty his pockets.
When the victim pulled his own firearm, the suspect turned and fled the scene.
Police were able to take the suspect into custody a short time later, after a brief foot pursuit, and secured him in the Washtenaw County jail.
No charges have currently been filed against the victim in this case, although Michigan is not a Stand–Your–Ground state.
